Greensmagic is an independent reference to eighteen working hotels, set out in four sections. Every entry is written from published sources: hotel websites, mapping services and press coverage. Nothing here is sold, booked or placed in order of merit, and no hotel is measured against another. Where a detail could not be confirmed, it was left out rather than guessed.

How this is compiled

Each entry begins with the hotel's own pages and is checked against mapping services, architectural writing and press coverage. Where two sources disagree, the entry says less rather than more. Nothing is written from memory, from marketing copy alone, or from a stay that cannot be shown in a published record.

The three groups in the index above describe the building, not the section: houses adapted from an earlier use, houses raised as hotels, and structures built again from snow each winter. The full method, and how to report an error, is set out on how this is compiled.
